Paint correction and buffing

$325.00

For most vehicles, a basic buff and polish starts around $150–$300, while real paint correction usually starts higher because it takes more labor and multiple polishing stages.

  • A 1-step paint correction for light swirl marks and minor scratches is usually around $250–$500
  • A 2-step correction for deeper swirls and moderate defects is often $650–$1,200
  • Heavy multi-stage correction on badly damaged paint can run $1,200–$2,500+ depending on vehicle size and condition

Larger SUVs, trucks, and luxury vehicles usually cost more because they take longer. Many detailers charge 20–40% more for larger vehicles.

  • Sedan 1-step buff/polish: $250–$350
  • SUV/truck 1-step buff/polish: $350–$450
  • Sedan 2-step correction: $500–$800
  • SUV/truck 2-step correction: $700–$1,000+

Most people are happy with a solid 1-step correction because it can remove about 70–80% of visible defects without the much higher cost of a full show-car correction.

Also, many customers expect paint correction to be paired with a wax, sealant, or ceramic coating afterward so the finish stays protected longer.
